About

In my early childhood I was fortunate to be able to find ways of expression through ballet and modern dance. I've been interested in movement and body awareness ever since.

I graduated from the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, with a Bachelor's degree in Science in 2000 in Mensendieck postural therapy.

Mensendieck therapy,  regardless of the symptoms or disorder, is treating the entire human body and not just on the part of the body where symptoms manifest. The therapist looks and investigates the relationship between complaint, posture and movement habits. The client receives an individual treatment plan with specifically tailored exercises to integrate in the client's daily routine.  This to continuously improve the entire posture- and movement pattern. Client participation and building awareness is crucial.

I opened my first practice for Mensendieck in The Netherlands in 2000.  While running my practice I  studied the human developmental method (Psychomotor Method) of Dr. Niek Brouw for 6 years, before moving with my husband our child to the United States in 2009.

I became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2015 and started working  at Loyly, a popular spa in the SE,  before I opened my practice in 2015/2016  My love for dance never went away , and I was fortunate to be able to work with the principal dancers at the Oregon Ballet Theatre for three years as a volunteer.

After the pandemic, my practice became part time and I got the opportunity to become the Dean of Students at East West College for the Healing arts. I worked closely with students who were on their journey to become massage therapists, offered them guidance and help with planning or studying or with life outside of school. I loved tutoring and teaching Kinesiology, however my own practice was gently calling me back to work more days...

Since January 2024 I am back in my private practice full time, integrating everything I have learned. I am thrilled to be able to pursue my own creative work through my hands again!
